Some bishops wanted a separate document about Mary.
But the majority of bishops had the wisdom to situate Mary in the document on the Church,
since as mother of Jesus she was and is mother of the whole family
- which is what Jesus said from the cross: "This is your mother"

And so the Church honors Mary "with filial affection and piety
as a most beloved Mother"
