Dear Friends
Two days ago I was having a cup of ginger tea with a fellow prison chaplain. We were discussing the need for a day centre for ex-inmates and other poor people
We
already have a team of volunteers running a most successful/blessed gathering
every Sunday night - for ex-inmates and others. But the same group of about 100
special "guests" has nowhere to go in the daytime.
Most of them are retired or semi-retired or have physical problems that prevent
them finding employment....so they just hang around the parks or McDonald's all
day with nothing to do
We'd
love to have a day centre where they can watch TV, have a meal, enjoy visits
from special groups, have a bit of prayer each day etc.
Fellow chaplain and I thought about buying a lottery ticket (...in fact I've
bought several over the years for this very purpose...) or buying a ticket in
the "3T" of the horse racing
Then we decided on a better bet....a much better 3T....the Three Persons of the Trinity....so...Father, Son and Holy Spirit...please help us find a day centre for the poor people of Yau Ma Tei area...which might also include emergency accommodation for just-out-of-prison or other special people. Amen!
