Dear Friends
Six
days a week I visit prisons. Each Thursday at one detention centre
I visit a special "day room" that has
about 20 sex offenders
As I enter that room I automatically think of the horrific harm done and sorrow caused and scandal given by sex offenders, drug dealers and murderers ......to victims and victims' families, and also to the offenders' families
And
then a stunning thought from Jesus:
"I was in prison and you came to see
me"
Jesus
identifies himself with murderers, drug dealers, sex offenders.
How can this be?
At
a time when media articles are understandably "calling for the blood"
of sex offenders, let's not forget that Someone shed his Blood for sex
offenders, murderers and drug dealers as much as for everyone else
....and that
"But for the grace of God, there go I"
