Dear Friends
In yesterday's blog "Perfect
Storm", I half jokingly speculated
that only a typhoon might rescue Hong Kong (and President Hu)
from a political/social "storm" on July 1.
The Weather Bureau must have read the blog,
because it has announced that
a real live typhoon is on the way!
This can be verified by scorching heat which
usually precedes a typhoon
...see the red thermometer!
On the same track, so to speak, last week the
Philippines and China
announced that they were "graciously" withdrawing their boats from
a
disputed area in the South China Sea.
This
report shows why...because it's typhoon season!
All of which can further confuse the already
very confusing saying
"It's an
ill wind which blows no good"!!!
(warning: the further you read in this link, the more confused you will become!)
(further warning: that's the sort of saying which might make Google Translation
crash!)
