Dear Friends
Last Friday, after my annual retreat in Sheung
Shui,
I visited a center for mentally and physically handicapped adults.
I try to visit the center every few months
It's a powerful, almost overwhelming
experience,
seeing distorted human bodies and minds,
"damaged files"
In my brain, the usual question: "Where's Jesus?"
In my heart, the usual answer: "When you visit the sick, you are visiting me"
The more I read books about praying for
healing,
and the more I see people healed after prayer,
the more I think we are just at the pioneering stage of healing prayer.
If more prayer were offered for handicapped people, especially when they are
young,
I'm sure we'd see great improvement in their condition
In recent decades, people like Agnes Sanford
and Francis McNutt
have shown the way in praying for the sick.
May more people follow their example
