Dear Friends
Part of my prison work in Hong Kong
is to reach out to ex-inmates
I keep each Sunday night free
for a meal with ex-inmates, street people,
friends from local parishes,
other friends from HK,
and overseas friends
If you're coming to HK,
you're welcome to join the party.
Sometimes there are only a few of us.
Sometimes we number around 30 or 40,
especially on the 2nd and 4th Sunday of the month
when a team of volunteers puts on a special meal
and a few activities
The ex-inmates are mainly drug addicts,
many of them still not free from drugs.
They are regarded by most organizations
as beyond help.
"Nothing can be done for them".
They are the bottom of the barrel
All the more reason to be friends with them,
walk with them,
pray for them each day,
visit them in hospital,
bury them
Thank you for a prayer for this special group,
that they will know Jesus' love in their hearts.
Then everything else will sort itself out
