Exodus 22

Laws announced by Moses:

"If a man seduces a virgin, he must marry her.

A sorceress must be put to death.

Anyone who has intercourse with an animal must die.

Do not discriminate against foreigners,
for you yourselves were foreigners in Egypt .

Do not be harsh to widows and orphans.

Do not demand interest if you make a loan to a poor person.

Always remember you are a people consecrated to me."

Dear God, please help us not to hurt other people

Psalm 95

Come ring out our joy to the Lord.
Hail the rock who saves us.

Let us come before him giving thanks.
With songs let us praise the Lord.

A mighty God is the Lord,
a great king above all gods.

In his hand are the depths of the earth.
The heights of the mountains are his.

To him belongs the sea, for he made it,
and the dry land shaped by his hands.

Come in, let us bow and bend low.
Let us kneel before the God who made us.

For he is our God
and we are the people who belong to his pasture.

Lord, you are our Creator. Our life comes from you. We praise and love you, Lord

Acts 20

Paul continued "You elders are the leaders of the Church of God.
Be on your guard against bad leaders trying to mislead people

Remember my example. I never asked anyone for money or clothes.
You know how my work as a tentmaker earned enough
to support my companions and me

Remember Jesus' words There is more happiness in giving than in receiving"

When he finished speaking, he knelt down with them and prayed.
Then they took him to the ship

Jesus, please help Gospel workers imitate Paul

Matthew 21

When Jesus arrived in Jerusalem, he went to the Temple.
In the Temple there were money changers, and people selling pigeons.

Jesus tipped over their tables and drove them out of the Temple.
He said to them "My house is a house of prayer,
but you have turned it into a place for robbery".

Blind and lame people came to Jesus in the Temple.
He healed them all.

Then he went out of the city to the village of Bethany
and spent the night there.

Jesus, please protect  all places of prayer from corruption
