O Holy Spirit, please guide me as I read these passages for today.                     
May these passages give me hope, strength, wisdom, compassion, courage and peace for my daily life             Chinese text

At daybreak the Jews attacked the Assyrian camp.
When the Assyrians realized that Holofernes was dead,
they panicked and fled.

The Jews gave thanks to God for all that Judith had done.

Judith praised the God of Israel for rescuing the Jews:

"Lord you are great, you are glorious,
wonderfully strong, unconquerable.
May all peoples love and serve you."

Dear God, thank you for the story of Judith.
Please help me imitate her faith

Have mercy on me, God, in your kindness,
and cleanse me of my sin.

My offences truly I know them.
What is evil in your sight I have done.

But in my defence please don't forget that sinfulness is part of the human condition,
part of our DNA.

A pure heart create for me, O God.
Put a steadfast spirit within me.

Give me again the joy of your help.
With a spirit of fervor sustain me.

Lord,  you will not spurn a humbled, contrite heart

Turn towards God. Turn away from the Devil,
and the Devil will run away from you

Clean your hearts and minds. Be sorry for your sins.
Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up

Do not slander one another. Who are you to give a verdict on your neighbor?

Jesus, help me understand  "the time to judge others is never"

Jesus said to his disciples
"My food is to do the will of the one who sent me, and to complete his work

Look around, look at the fields. They are ready for harvest"

Jesus, please encourage more people to be Gospel workers, harvesting souls for eternal life
