O Holy Spirit, please guide me as I read these passages for today.                     
May these passages give me hope, strength, wisdom, compassion, courage and peace for my daily life             Chinese text

Holofernes allowed Judith and her maid to stay in a special tent each night,
and each morning to go to a spring near Bethulia to wash and pray.

After 3 days, Holofernes held a banquet for his staff.
He invited Judith to the banquet with the aim of seducing her.

Holofernes was so captivated by Judith's beauty
that he kept on drinking wine until he was drunk.

All the while Judith kept praying to God for strength and help.

Dear God, please give me a bit more of Judith's faith and courage

All peoples, clap your hands, cry to God with shouts of joy.
For the Lord, our Creator, we must love and honor,
great king over all the earth.

Especially in his holy city is the Lord worthy to be praised.
Praise is fitting in Mount Sion, our earth's most sacred site.

O God, as we pray in your temple,
our hearts meditate on your love.

May peoples and rulers everywhere
acknowledge and love you as Creator of the Universe

When a bit is put into a horse's mouth, the whole animal is under control.
A tiny rudder can control a big ship

In the same way, if you can control your tongue,
you can control every other part of yourself

The tongue is a whole wicked world in itself. It is so hard to control.
We use it to bless God, but we also use it to curse people made in God's image 

Jesus, please help me control my tongue!

Some of John the Baptist's disciples told John that many of his disciples were leaving him
and following Jesus

John replied "I am not the Christ. I am the one who was sent to prepare his way. 
The bride is only for the bridegroom. But the bridegroom's friend is happy
when he hears the bridegroom's voice. This is the happiness  I now feel

He must become more and more important.
I must become less and less important

Anyone who believes in the Son has eternal life.
But anyone who refuses to believe in the Son will not have eternal life"

Jesus,  be more and more important in my life
