Deuteronomy 19 - 21

Moses' teaching:

"A life for a life, an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth,
a hand for a hand, a foot for a foot.

When you go to war, the following men are excused from fighting:

a man who has not yet dedicated his newly-built house;
a man who has planted a vineyard and not yet enjoyed its fruit;
a man who is engaged to be married;
a man who is fearful and faint of heart
."

Dear Lord,  help me to understand how Jesus taught us
 to love our enemies and not to take revenge

Psalm 19 (sun + law = the "sun-in-law" psalm)

The heavens proclaim the glory of God,
the starry skies are the work of his hands.

The stars can't speak, but they are  God's handwriting.
The sun is God's love shining on  the whole world.

The universe is a masterpiece, and so is God's law
which shines in our hearts.

The precepts of the Lord enlighten our lives each day.
The law of the Lord gives joy and wisdom to our hearts.

The decrees of the Lord are to be desired more than gold,
they are sweeter than honey, than honey from the comb.

But  often we are unaware of  our errors.
Lord, please protect us from making mistakes.

I Corinthians 15

I am the least of the apostles.
In fact, since I persecuted the Church of God,
I hardly deserve the name apostle

But by God's grace I am what I am,
and the grace that he gave me has not been fruitless

On the contrary, I, or rather the grace of God in my heart,
have worked harder than any of the others,
preaching the same message that they preach

Jesus, may your grace in me be more fruitful

Mark 10

As  Jesus was leaving Jericho on his way to Jerusalem,
many people followed him along the road

Sitting by the road was a man who had become blind.
His name was Bartimaeus ("son of Timaeus").
When he heard that Jesus was going past,
he called out "Son of David, have pity on me"

Some people tried to stop him from calling out,
but he shouted even more loudly " Son of David, have pity on me"

Jesus stopped and said to him "What do you want me to do for you?"
He replied "Lord, let me see again"

Jesus said to him "Go, your faith has saved you".
Immediately his sight returned, and he followed Jesus along the road

Jesus, please heal my blind friend ....(name)...
