How to use old Palm files in Windows 8
Make a back-up copy of your Palm files (address, memo, calendar etc)
Go to Control Panel, put "Folder Options" in search at top right, then at Folder Options, click "view", then unclick "hide extensions for known file types".
Now
when you access your old Palm files the file types will show as ".dat"
Old address file: change extension name from .dat to .aba
Old memo file: change extension name from .dat to .mpa
Old calendar file: change extension name from .dat to .dba
Now
use Palm 6.2 import function for each of calendar, contacts and memo
You can also back up these files by using Palm 6.2 export function to send the
files to a memo stick. In export function, need to click "all".
