Dear John,
Thank you so much for your recent donation to our crisis work in the Central African Republic.
I'm writing to let you know that, with your help, we've published a hard-hitting report on war crimes perpetrated across the country in 2013 and 2014.
This report isn't just a bunch of bureaucratic jargon. It's a game-changer:
It names members and allies of the anti-balaka and Séléka armed groups suspected of committing serious human rights abuses and calls for the investigation, prosecution and punishment of perpetrators.
It identifies a number of high-profile leaders for their roles in the atrocities, including ex-Presidents François Bozizé and Michel Djotodia, anti-balaka coordinator Levy Yakété, and Séléka commander Noureddine Adam.
It documents first-hand accounts from victims and witnesses of crimes under international law that have left thousands dead and forced almost a million to flee.
We're hopeful that the information contained in this report will lead to prosecutions in the International Criminal Court.
Thank you for helping us ensure that those who masterminded, committed or participated in crimes against humanity in the Central African Republic are brought to account.
We couldn't do this important work without you.
For human rights,
Michael Hayworth
