  Reading:  Numbers 28-29

Times for the Israelites to offer sacrifices to God:
-  daily
-  the Sabbath
-  the feast of the New Moon of each month
-  the feast of Unleavened Bread (14th day of 1st month)
-  the feast of Weeks
-  the feast of Acclamations (1st day of 7th month)
-  the day of Atonement (10th day of 7th month)
-  the feast of Tabernacles (15th day of 7th month)

Reflection:
The lives of the Israelites revolved around the Liturgy, like a planet around the sun.  So too for Christians, our life each year revolves around the liturgical seasons as we meditate and ever more deeply understand and appreciate God's love for us

Prayer:  Dear God, thank you for special days and seasons to honor you.  May the yearly liturgical seasons deepen our love for you

Reading: Psalm 134

O come, bless the Lord,
all you who serve the Lord,

who stand in the house of the Lord,
in the courts of the house of our God.

Lift up your hands to heaven
and bless the Lord through the night.

May the Lord bless you from Zion,
he who made both heaven and earth.

Reflection:
The above words were for those who served in the Temple.
But all people, especially all believers, can "bless the Lord through the night"
....certainly last thing before sleep we can pray:

Prayer: Lord, please  protect my family tonight and every night

Reading:  2 Timothy 2

Remind everyone to avoid useless debates and discussions.
These  cause scandal and loss of faith

Be available for the Master to use you for any good work

Focus on goodness, faith, love and peace.
Avoid futile speculations which only lead to quarrels

A servant of the Lord is not to engage in quarrels, but should be kind to everyone, a good teacher, and patient

Be gentle with anyone you have to correct

Reflection:
Positive, respectful discussions can be good. But arguments are useless, sometimes even worse than useless, generating more heat than light

Prayer:
Jesus, please help me avoid useless discussions and arguments

Reading:  Luke 22

While Jesus was  speaking, a group of men arrived, led by Judas.

One of Jesus' apostles used his sword to cut off the right ear of one of the men sent to arrest Jesus

Jesus told his apostles not to use their swords. Then touching the man's ear, he healed him

Jesus said to the men arresting him "This is your hour. This is the reign of darkness"

Reflection:
Christians are meant to be people who, except in the gravest emergency  circumstances, "do not use swords"

Prayer: Jesus, please help Christians be people who "do not use swords"
