  Reading:  Numbers 15-16

Another rebellion broke out when Korah
and his group of  250 men rebelled against Moses and Aaron.

This group said “You take too much on yourselves.
The whole community is consecrated.

How can you say you are more important than the community?”

The next morning this group and other rebels
were punished by God:
the ground where the Korah group were standing split open
and they disappeared into the hole.

The other rebels died when a fire came down from heaven
and consumed them

Reflection:
The lines in green might have some application to the present day: it is true that all Christians are priests in the sense that Christians are a priestly people, but there are some Christians called to be dedicated, specially consecrated priests.
To say there's no need for a specially consecrated priesthood is a bit "Korish"

Prayer: Dear God, please help people not to rebel against you

Reading: Psalms 120-121

I call to the  Lord in the hour of my distress:
"Lord save me from people who speak with lying lips".

Long enough have I been dwelling with those who hate peace.
I am for peace, but they are for fighting.

I lift up my eyes to the mountains.
From where shall come my help?

My help shall come from the Lord
who made heaven and earth.

The Lord is our guard and our shade.
Day and night we shall not be afraid.

The Lord will guard our going and coming
both now and forever.

Reflection:
Day and night God is our help. Always on duty. No holiday for millions of years? Someone joked that in order to have a rest, Father, Son and Holy Spirit each does 8-hour shifts!
But their help for us is more like that of a mother for her baby: 24/7 when needed

Prayer: Lord, please protect us from danger, day and night

Reading:  1 Timothy 4

It's good to keep fit physically, and even more important to keep fit spiritually

We have put our trust in the living God. He is the savior of the whole human race, especially of believers

Reflection:
So much time and money and energy goes into keeping fit physically.
But keeping fit spiritually?

Prayer: Jesus, may I keep fit, physically and spiritually

Reading:  Luke 18

As Jesus entered Jericho, there was a blind beggar sitting by the road. People in the crowd told him that Jesus of Nazareth was passing by

So he called out "Jesus, Son of David, have pity on me". Some people told him to be quiet, but he just shouted all the louder "Jesus, Son of David, have pity on me"

Jesus stopped and asked him "What do you want me to do for you?"
He replied "Sir, let me see again"

Jesus said to him "Receive your sight. Your faith has saved you".
Instantly his sight returned, and he followed Jesus, praising God

Reflection:
Once again, a link between faith and healing.
Not always a link, but more often than not.
Which means if we had more faith in praying for healing, for ourselves and for others, we'd see more healing happen.
This doesn't mean "no healing indicates no faith", but "more faith, more healing"

Prayer: Jesus, please increase my faith in your healing love
