  Reading:  Exodus 35

Moses encouraged the Israelites to give willingly and generously
in building the Tent of Meeting.

Everyone whose heart was moved to help
brought their gifts for the Lord.

Reflection:
Pope Francis often speaks about "the globalisation of indifference"
...meaning hearts that are unmoved by the plight of others, hearts that are no longer moved to help others

Prayer:
Dear God, move our hearts to help other people

Reading: Psalm 94

O Lord,  Judge of the earth,
how long will the wicked crush the poor?

The wicked say "God does not hear".
But can he who made the ear, not hear?

Blessed are those whom the Lord teaches.
The Lord gives them peace in troubled times.

When cares increase in my heart,
God's
consolation calms my soul.

Reflection:
Better than tablets and medicine (...not saying ignore doctor....should follow doctor's advice) is consolation from God ...per prayer, meditation, worship etc. Medicine can treat only the symptoms. God can treat the cause.

Prayer: Lord, when cares and troubles increase, please help us to trust in you.

Reading:  Colossians 3

Since you have been brought back to true life with Christ,
focus on heaven, where Christ is, sitting at the Father's right hand

Let your thoughts be more on heavenly things,
less on the things that are on earth

Reflection:
As we grow older, it should be more common and more natural to think more often about "heavenly things" ....just like a teenager stops thinking about playing with children's toys and starts thinking about adult things

Prayer: Jesus, please help me think more often about heaven.....since that's where I hope to spend all eternity! Help me understand how this present world is just a temporary arrangement

Reading:  Luke 10

Jesus appointed 72 disciples to go ahead of him in pairs, to all the towns and places he himself was to visit

He said to them "The harvest is rich, but the laborers are few, so ask the Lord of the harvest to send laborers to his harvest

When you go into a town, cure those in it who are sick, and say:  'The kingdom of God is very near to you' "

Reflection:
Jesus didn't say "tell those who are sick to offer up their suffering"

Prayer:
Jesus, please inspire more people to make the spreading of the Good News their life's work
