1st Reading: A lovely reading because of Mary's longing to see Jesus at the tomb
Alternative 1st Reading: Mary was overwhelmed by the love of Jesus ...so much so that she, like Jesus' mother, put her life on the line by staying by Jesus' cross....a dangerous thing for a friend of the condemned Jesus to do
Responsorial Psalm: Mary "thirsted" for Jesus' presence on Easter Sunday morning ...and previously, as at Calvary
Gospel:
Jesus sent ("apostled") Mary to tell the
apostles that he had risen
...which is why Mary is called "the apostle of the apostles"
Reflection: Mary of Magdala - Apostle to the Apostles
Prayer:
Jesus, please help me be an apostle - by
helping others know and love you
