 Reading - Reflection - Prayer   June 29, 2013

Readings for the Solemnity of Saints Peter and Paul (not "vigil" readings, but "readings of the day" ...scroll down...).
As we read about Peter and Paul, lets remember that Peter denied Jesus and Paul persecuted Jesus,
the same Jesus who turned their lives around for the foundation of the Church.

1st Reading:  Angel helps inmate escape from prison

Responsorial Psalm:  Thank you Lord for setting me free! (Peter)

2nd Reading:  Thank you Lord for so often rescuing me (Paul)

Gospel:  Origin of the name "Peter" (= a rock, c.f. petroleum, "oil from rock")

Video Reflection (beautiful!)

Prayer:
Saint Peter and Saint Paul, please help the Church follow Jesus more faithfully
