O Holy Spirit, please guide me as I read these passages for today.                     
May these passages give me hope, strength, wisdom, compassion, courage and peace for my daily life             Chinese text

Reading:  Job 18-19

Job repeated that he was innocent of any wrong-doing.
He added: "I am sure of three things:
my God lives,
my God will rescue me,
and I will see my God's face."

Reflection:  
Based on the above words (& words of St Paul) is I know that my Redeemer liveth (YouTube)
in Handel's Messiah - really beautiful!

Prayer: Dear God, I believe you live  and that someday I will see your face

Sing a new song to the Lord for he has worked wonders.
His right hand has brought salvation.

The Lord has made known his salvation.
He has shown his justice to the nations.

He has remembered his truth and love 
for the house of Israel.

All the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.
Shout to the Lord all the earth, ring out your joy.

Sing psalms to the Lord with the harp,
with the sound of music.

Let the sea, the world and all peoples
acclaim the King, the Lord.

Let the rivers clap their hands
and the hills ring out their joy

at the presence of the Lord, 
for he comes to rule the earth.

He will rule the world with justice
and the peoples with fairness.

Reflection: 
God loves all peoples in all nations, just like parents love all their children.
All peoples/nations should love God, just like all children should love their parents

Prayer: Lord, may all peoples in all countries know your love and goodness

In our life of truth and love,
we have grace, mercy and peace from God the Father
and from Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father

I write not to give you any new commandment,
but the one we were given at the beginning:
let us love one another; let us live a life of love

Keep to what Jesus taught.
Don't follow anyone who changes what Jesus taught

Reflection: 
A way of testing if someone has changed Jesus' message:
what's their love-life like?  How good are they at "loving one another as Jesus loved us"?

Prayer: Jesus, please protect me from people who distort your message of love

Many people believed in Jesus, even some important people,
but they did not admit it, through fear of being expelled from the prayer hall.
They put honor from people before the honor that comes from God

Jesus said openly "I, the light, have come into the world, 
so that whoever believes in me, need not stay in the dark any more"

Reflection: 
It's sad when people compromise their principles for the sake of popularity or promotion. 
How different were Gandhi, Mandela, Martin Luther King, Romero

Prayer: Jesus, true Light of the world, please help me put honor from you before honor from people
