Readings: Today let's use the readings for the Third Sunday of Advent

Reflection:
Can these readings help our sick world prevent shootings like that in Connecticut?
The Gospel reading shows a way:  caring, sharing, justice.
These are the foundation values of any society. When they are lacking,
when they are replaced by selfishness, corruption and lack of discipline,
evil takes over.
In the twisted mind and heart of the Connecticut killer, evil had taken over.
How many hours and years had he spent filling his mind with all sorts of junk from the internet?
In the twisted minds and hearts of the gun lobby people, greed and power have replaced goodness.

Prayer: Jesus, have mercy on us. Please help our sick world take practical steps to
get back to foundation values to prevent evil from taking over people's minds and hearts
