Australia's asylum seeker vergogna

(A thought: any country which is generous to asylum seekers ...will be blessed by the Good Lord ...as the US grew strong when it welcomed the arrival of new settlers in the previous two centuries. This doesn't mean an "open door" policy, but it does mean a compassionate policy as used to exist in Canada, the US and Australia.
On the other hand, any country which is callous towards asylum seekers  ... will be devoured by the cancer of increasing selfishness.  jw)

How the USA can solve its administration crises: a federal referendum  c.f. Wikipedia:

c.f. Pay attention to signs of times

"There is no provision for the holding of referendums at the federal level in the United States, which the Constitution does not provide for. A constitutional amendment would be required to allow it. However, the constitutions of 24 states and many local and city governments provide for referendums and citizen's initiatives.
However, a Constitutional Convention can be called by two-thirds of the legislatures of the States, and that Convention is empowered to propose one or more amendments to the Constitution. These amendments are then sent to the States to be approved by three-fourths of their legislatures or conventions. This route has never been taken, and there is discussion in political science circles about just how such a convention would be convened, and what kind of changes it would bring about"

Excommunication…What a Way to Witness to the Love of God

I find it absolutely idiotic that anyone should be thrown out of the Church because they have experienced and understand that Christ is incarnated in men and women alike and the Holy Spirit is able to empower men and women alike with the same spiritual gifts, including ecclesiastical leadership. I wonder how many Catholics deserve excommunication by the Vatican’s standards?
